Iron Dwarf Medium Rare
Don't worry I'm still here and I've racked up a bunch of new achievements... in Starcraft II.
I did take down the Lich King in 25 man this week all due to a great bunch of raiders. They did most of the work. I died in the 3rd phase. Blinked into a Lich King swing while running from Vile Spirits.
Sidenote*
I will also be bringing you spoiler coverage on new achievements that have been included in the beta as well as when Cataclysm is released. I will try to label them the best that I can so it doesn't ruin the magic for some of you who may be waiting for release to dive in.
Glory of the Ulduar Raider 10 Player
Part 2 Iron Dwarf Medium Rare
To earn this achievement you need defeat 25 Dark Rune Guardians using Razorscale's Flame Breath.
This was a fairly easy achievement. It is heavily dependent upon time. This fight will go for a long time and eventually you may have to wipe it and start over. Don't worry though, as the counter is accumulative and will carry over each fight. This fight requires 2 tanks or 1 uber-tank.
Starting the Fight
Talking to the Expedition Commander, pretty much the only human in a sea of Dwarfs, will start the Event.
Razorscale Add's and Abilities
Phase 1
The groups I've been with like to have everyone in the giant circle in the middle of the area; spread out a little.
You'll notice a faint outline of a circle on the ground.
- Adds will spawn during this phase by digging to the surface with mechanical drill transports called Darkrune Mole Machines. This is the phase where you can complete the achievement. Those adds will be Darkrune Guardians and Darkrune Watchers.
- Watchers cast a chain lightning that should be interrupted. Watchers should be dps'd down. Guardians should not be killed or damaged at the beginning of this phase. If there are only 2 drills coming out of the ground it will be a regular group of 2 guardians 2 watchers. Tanks will usually split the adds between themselves taking a Guardian and a Watcher each.
- Darkrune Sentinels also have a chance to spawn. If you see 3 drills spawning, one of them will be a Sentinel. The Darkune Sentinel has a giant whirlwind cleave making it best for ranged dps to take him down. Any of the tanks, can pick up the Sentinel while maintaining aggro on their original targets.
Razorscale will also spit fireballs down below. One will be hitting players directly. The other will be spreading a blue flame aoe on the ground. Be mindful of these.
- Dwarven Engineers have been repairing previously destroyed turrets during this phase. By this time the Expedition Engineers should have repaired 1 or both turrets. Someone should run over to them, usually a ranged player but it can be anyone, and activate them. This will bring Razorscale down to the ground, ensnared by chains. The surviving Guardians should be brought over to about 10 to 15 yards in front of Razorscale's mouth. You should have two, four, or six Guardians alive.
- This is when the Guardians should be dps'd to a low health anywhere below 18% but preferably lower than 15% percent. Her breath will then do enough damage to kill the Guardians. DPS should try to use their lowest damage spells to chip away at the Guardians and prevent crits from killing the Guardians before the breath. If a Guardian is killed by a DPS and not Razorscale, don't fret just try to be aware of who's attacking and when to stop. When I did this we had times where Guardians lived through the breath or died before it. Its just a matter of doing the "dance" over and over till you get the achievement.
She will flame breath in front of her in a cone. The tanks should be standing the adds in front of her, a little distance away from her mouth. It has a large range.
Phase 2
When Razorscale is grounded and her health hits 50% she will stay permanently grounded and will begin phase 2. If you hit this phase you should be done with the achievement otherwise you might want to wipe so you can regroup and continue farming for the achievement.
- It's ideal to have dps and the offtank on her hind legs as the main tank kites her in a giant circle pattern. There is a stacking debuff called Fuse Armor which slows the tank and reduces their armor. It stacks up to a maximum of 5 times, at which the tank will not be able to taunt. It is better to have the offtank run into position and taunt off at 2 stacks or any amount of stacks that are comfortable, and continue kiting while the maintank waits for their stacks to wear off.
Razorscale will still drop aoe fire, and cast flame breath during this phase.
Ranged dps and healers should be in the middle of the circle while Razorscale is being kited around you in a circle. Kill her and pew pew you're done.
