TGIF: 10/30/09
Hey guys and girls (even though "girls don't play WoW"),
So... weekend time. My weekend is going to be FILLED with trick or treating... in fact, it's going to be SO chaulk full of Trick or Treating that I'm gonna get a belly ache! ... (that joke was lame on purpose.)
So, the way I see it, when I get home (around 6:00 p.m.), let's assume I get online at 6:15, I'm going to have until 11:59 p.m. Saturday night to finish trick or treating.
That's 30 ToTs. Plus 1 daily for putting out the fires (getting the daily from the pumpkin) today and tomorrow. So 32 attempts left. Plus, if I'm good I'll get my alts into Headless Horsemans... but I won't include those being as how it's way too dynamic how many you'll be able to get into.
Looks like I won't be sleeping until Sunday Morning :) (Unless of course, I get lucky, then this is all for nothing).
Also, don't forget that the Day of the dead starts on Sunday (1 a.m. on my server, probably yours too!). As I understand it, you just need to go dance with some broad named Catrina. My best guess is that she's going to be in Dalaran (judging by
Bread of the Dead.
For those of you going to Halloween parties this weekend, be sure to get a picture of yourself for
Our Halloween Costume Contest (keep in mind, that we don't want screenshots, we want RL pics of you in your costume... bonus points if you're heavily intoxicated :) (bonus points shall be awarded in "
internets" not actual favoritism when selecting the winner).
Well, that's about it for me until Monday... I'll be posting something on Sunday to tell you where Catrina actually is (but like I said, assume Dalaran).

Grunty Contest: Favorite Achievement
Hey guys!
Man... I hooked up my Blackberry to the e-mail I used for this contest... YOU GUYS WOULDN'T LEAVE ME ALONE ALL WEEKEND! DING! DING! DING!
GJ though, we had 520 entries in 2 1/2 days... not too bad :)
The winner was selected via a randomly selected number used from
Random.org as to get rid of any of the QQing that we had with the Violet Proto-drake prize.
I'm contacting the winner now. He/She/It has until 11:59:59 p.m. Monday October 26th EST to respond to the e-mail or I'll be picking another winner.
I really liked seeing some of the stories you guys added to the contest posts comments about why you liked certain contests.
I'll be posting the winner after they contact me :)
If you didn't win, don't worry... I still have 16 more Grunty's to give away!

TGIF: 10/23/09
Hey all!
Sorry about the lack of posts this week, not a whole lot to report on since Blizz keeps me from talking about data mined information :(
ICC is looking like it's going to rock though. Personally I'm hoping there are some more achievements other than the typical "Kill this raid boss in under 2 minutes" or the usual achievements we've all come to know and get bored of.
Has anyone out there hit the 20 mask achievement yet? I find it funny how RNG is. My main
Mep, only has like 12 masks. And about 5 of my other characters are working on their last four.
Although, I've seen some cool math out there to describe how much time you should expect to spend to get all twenty masks. Based on statistics alone
(Taken from
Wowhead)
If you have 10 masks, you are ~20% done.
If you have 15 masks, you are ~30% done.
If you have 16 masks, you are ~40% done.
If you have 18 masks, you are ~60% done.
If you have 19 masks, you are ~72% done.
If you have 20 masks, I hate you.

Hallows End and Halloween Contest

Halloween Contest Official Announcement
Hey everyone!
So this is the official announcement for the Halloween costume contest!
This has NOTHING to do with achievements, or even in game! I want to see pictures of your Halloween costumes! If the costume happens to be WoW related, that's great! But I want to see your costumes no matter what they are!
Official Rules:1. Each person is allowed to submit one photo of themselves (or by request, their children) in their Halloween costumes.
2. On November 3rd submissions will be closed, and open voting will be opened.
3. On November 6th, open voting will be closed.
4. On November 7th a winner will be announced.
This is the official post, and any changes made to the contest will be noted in a new post and redirected back here.
The winner will receive a
Grunty, the Murloc Marine in the mail a few days after the contest.
How to Enter:1. Go to the
WoW-Screenshots.com image submission page and fill out the information.
2. Mark the Category as "Contest : Halloween contest".
3. Select the check box next to "Enter The Halloween Costume Contest"
4. Select "Submit" and you're done!
You'll be able to see all of the submissions

WoW-Achievements Halloween Costume Contest!
Hey everyone!
So, I was sitting here thinking about the next contest I want to do to give away another
Grunty and it dawned on me...
Cloud and I wanted to do an in game Halloween contest, but we figured "hey... Halloween is coming up IRL! Let's do a real life costume contest!"
So, this contest will be going up very soon (within the next 48 hours).
UPDATE: Due to what I feel would be a small amount of entries. This contest will be being changed to ANY costume, doesn't have to be WoW related.I'll be making another post when this contest goes live.

TGIF: 9/25/09
Hey everyone!
Welcome to Friday! Isn't it glorious? The weekend is almost here, Brewfest is almost half over (as is our
Violet Proto-drake Contest).
I'm curious... at the start of last year, I decided to try to get the Violet proto on all of my characters (no small task as I have 10 of them...), now, most of them made it through the culling of the
Sinister Squashling, but I did lose a couple... I think 9/10 of my toons made it through Winter Veil, but after Lunar Festival, I was down to only three characters that were still golden...
So I wonder... How many of you have gotten more than one Violet Proto?
So far, I have two submitted Violet proto drake screenshots that stick out to me as being the best. And I think I already know which of those two I'd pick... however, there's still a week left! You can enter more than once! So go take some pictures OUTSIDE of Dalaran... You're competing for a pretty cool prize, put some effort into it :)
Also, I know my weekend will be filled with ram racing, and trying to lvl some of my 73's up to 75. How about you?

Get That Achievement: Brewmaster
Some of you may wonder why I didn't make it
What A Long, Strange Trip Its Been. Well, I figured EVERYONE needs this achievement, despite if they are going to be able to get their proto-drake or not. Thus...
I want you to get your Brewmaster title.

A quick note on the Violet Protodrake Screenshot contest
Pictures that are submitted must be raw screenshots, you can crop them if you'd like, but no modification via third party software.
We will however, do a contest in the near future where that will be allowed as I imagine you guys could do some seriously awesome things :)

The big one...
The one that countless QQ's have been made for... be it candy hearts, Halloween masks, or just general "I failed at being online so change the game for me!" complaints...
What a long strange trip it's been... and indeed it has.
So here's the challenge. I want to see an image of you... riding your Violet Proto Drake... And I want this image to be submitted to
WoW-Screenshots.com with the title "Your name here" on my Violet Proto Drake! (obviously replacing your name with your toon's name) ex. "Mep on my Violet Proto drake!"
Why do this you ask? What can I do to possibly make you take precious seconds of your online time to go and do this?
Because I want to give you one of these!
(Yes that is my cat... his name is also Mep, cause I'm narcissistic like that)That's right! Out of all the entries we receive on
WoW-Screenshots.com I will be picking one lucky winner to get this card.
What am I looking for in the Screenshot? Well... that's for you to figure out... all that matters is that you turn your name plate on (so your name shows above your head), and get yourself on your violet proto drake!
Be sure to submit the picture with a valid e-mail address as I'll be contacting the winner, and verifying that it is actually you (through a method I won't give away).
I will accept entries through ALL of Brewfest so there should be no QQing about time zone differences and whatnot.

Mep smells a contest...From Blizzard
I am pleased to let you know that we are able to send each of our official sites 20 BlizzCon pet cards to give away in contests for your site.
So it's gonna be a week or so before I get them... and I plan on stretching out the contests over months and months, I'm sure I'll do some trivia contests like I did with the Blizzcon tickets... but I want to hear what kind of contests you guys think would be relevant / interesting. Be creative! No idea is too stupid, cause I'm
brilliant and I can probably adapt your idea into a contest somehow...
